Ravishing Red 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible loaded with power options: 283ci engine, power glide automatic transmission, dual quads, bat wing air cleaner, power pak notched heads, power steering and power brakes. It's a Powerglide automatic transmission. Looking up at the motor it's real clean Chevy Orange, it has a new flywheel cover. The front suspension and steering is clean. UNDERSIDE: Appears to be very solid and proper. The white wall tire on the spare has never been used. It has reproduction rubber mat, seat divider and weatherstrip. TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It's very nice, repainted Sierra gold. It's not show quality but very presentable.
Overall the components are clean and proper.

The suffix letter after the engine code identifies the engine plant - 'F' Flint, 'T' Tonawanda. It also has an aluminum radiator keep it running cool. ENGINE NUMBER is located on the right side of the block to the rear of the distributor.

The generator was removed and upgraded with a new alternator. The 283 motor was replaced with a bigger 307, it runs smooth. The glove box liner is new and the light works in there also.ĮNGINE COMPARTMENT: There are some nice upgrades under the hood. It does have a retro stereo and optional clock. The metal is painted nice inside the car. The headliner is new and there's a working dome light. The window cranks and handles look like they've been replaced. The seats have been completely reupholstered using the correct 210 materials. It has optional rear mount antenna and rocker moldings. Most of it looks like it was replaced during restoration. Overall the chrome and stainless is straight and shiny. The Sierra gold metal flake paint is laid out evenly, the clear coat is polished like a mirror. It has a refreshing look, it's not the typical red Bel Air that we've all seen a million times.ĮXTERIOR: The body is really straight, the panels fit beautifully.
